We are using the children’s Learning Logs to track behaviours in classrooms and around the school. Using a simple coding system, we are developing greater consistency across all staff in communicating expectations. This system also allows us to see, at a glance, where children may need more support or where we can make improvements, as well as being a low-level and rapid acknowledgement rather than a lengthy, repetitive conversation. There is no direct consequence to these ‘codes’ being administered – they build a picture in the very first instance.
